First Baptism🥹

 Hi everyone!


Its been a really good week! My friend Quentin got baptized on Sunday. I want to tell you his story because its so awesome. 

So he is Nigerian, he was born and raised in Toronto but he lived in Grand Prairie Alberta last year. He met some Sister Missionaries on the street one day and they taught him for a while and he was almost baptized but he wasn't ready. Another set of Missionaries tried to help him be baptized again, but he wasn't ready. That takes us to this December. So he was being taught for a hot minute. Then he came back to Toronto, and the sisters from Alberta sent us his info and said not to give up on him. 

So my comp called him everyday for a lot of weeks and then one day he answered and said he wanted to find the truth on his own time. So she stopped calling him. Then I came and during my second week here, we had institute and Quentin just randomly showed up and said can you please help me be baptized. LIKE WHAT! We still don't really know what happened so I should ask him but isn't that crazy! So we started teaching him and realized he had some things he needed to work on, and one day he actually told us that he didn't think he could be baptized because he couldn't overcome this problem. But we had such a beautiful lesson with him about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and repentance and he said he could do it and actually moved his baptismal date up to the 15th! 

So we worked really hard to help him prepare, and one day he invited us over to his house to meet his grandma! She is the sweetest lady and has so much faith in God! We taught her the restoration and she said she wants to read the Book of Mormon. Then Quentin was baptized on Sunday, and when he was given the Holy Ghost the biggest smile crossed his face. He had so much faith that the gift of the Holy Ghost could help him in his life and he wanted it so much.

Sorry this was a long email, but I just know that God's timing is perfect. If Quentin had been baptized in Alberta, his grandma might have never been able to be taught about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I would have never gotten to teach Quentin and help him which has strengthened my testimony so much. God's plan for each of us is perfect and every effort we put into helping others come closer to Jesus Christ he will magnify. Without those Alberta Sisters Quentin would not have been baptized on Sunday. They might have felt like their efforts were wasted but they werent at all!! I love this gospel, it can change all of our lives for the better. It helps us become better and shows us our worth and potential as children of God. I love you all so much!!

 Hi Everyone!!! I am so dearly sorry for not emailing you all I know you're just dying to hear how I am doing! Lol. So here you go, I am doing so good!! Im not even lying, I love it here with my whole heart. I love teaching people, finding people, and I love the members. AND to top it all off, it's getting SO WARM!! Exchanges😋

 Hello again, I feel like im emailing you guys everyday, P-day just keeps coming up faster and faster. But it's good im excited to update y'all on everything.  This week was so good we now have 4 friends on date! They are all amazing and have strengthened my testimony of this gospel so so much. I'm so excited for them! Monday to Tuesday I exchanged with our STLs. I was with Sister Johnson!! I love her she's awesome and such a diligent missionary I learned so much from her. We taught one of our friends about the 10 commandments and when we said thou shall not Kill, he said we shouldn't kill with knife, but in Nigeria, we kill with gun... Yeah that was crazy so we had to make sure he knew any killing is against the commandments🤣 then we had FHE and we played telestrations! It was fun but it's definitely more fun with my family. Farewell and Setting Apart

 Shelby was so nervous to give her talk, but she did amazing! Her testimony is powerful. She talked of building a relationship with Jesus Christ. Her testimony of serving in the temple was sincere and strong. It was an amazing talk, as if she has already gone and served! The Dean girls; Mom, Emily, Ellee, Hailey and Aubrey sang the song Because, by Shawna Edwards. It was a beautiful song that added the spirit to the meeting. Finally, President Lootens spoke, and he told of how much he loves Shelby and the Dean family. It was a nice tribute. We had an open house here at our home, where wonderful friends and family came: The Lee's, Grandma and Grandpa Martin, Jordan, The Hubbards, The Walkers,  The Waltons, The Rodriguezs, The Ackroyds, Sebastian Badara, Karam, and Sarah Pender. We ate Ham sliders and 6 different salads and desserts.
